One known discrepancy, stated openly. The mailing address on the AHRQ listing is CareGuard’s former office and is out of date. CareGuard’s office is 4477 Woodson Rd, Suite 203, St. Louis, MO 63134, and a change-of-listing-information notice is in preparation. The Patient Safety Rule requires a PSO to notify the Secretary promptly of changes to the information submitted for listing, including a change of address, and that is why this is being corrected rather than left.

What the listing obliges CareGuard to do

  • Two bona fide contracts in each successive 24-month period, beginning with the initial date of listing. The Patient Safety Rule requires AHRQ to be notified at least 45 days before the end of each period.
  • Prompt notification of any change in the accuracy of the information submitted for listing, major or minor — including a change of address, phone number, point of contact or Authorized Official.
  • Disclosure of certain relationships with a provider that the PSO also has a Patient Safety Act contract with.
  • Prompt notification if it can no longer comply with any of its attestations.

What it does not give CareGuard

No authority over any facility, no inspection powers, no ability to license, accredit or certify, and no role in any provider’s Medicare or Medicaid standing. What CareGuard is not.

The Authorized Official
